Rules and personal data
This page says how the content of the dictionary may be used, what contributors agree to, and what data the site keeps.
Content of the dictionary
- Entries are distributed under a free licence: CC BY-SA 4.0. The content may be copied, shared and adapted, provided the source is named and adapted content is shared under the same licence.
- The sources of each entry and their licences are listed on the entry's page.
- When citing, name “Leksikon UZ” and the address of the entry; a ready citation is under the “Cite” button of the entry.
- Entries without a definition were added from a word list automatically and have not been checked by an editor; the entry itself says so.
Contributions
- By submitting an edit you agree to publish it under the licence named above.
- Every edit names its source. Do not add text that may not be freely shared (for example, definitions copied from dictionaries under copyright).
- An edit by a participant is published after an editor has checked it. The editor may reject it or return it for changes.
- The history of edits is public: it shows the text of an edit, its time and the display name of its author.
What data the site keeps
- E-mail address: for signing in and for letters about your account. It is not shown to other users and is not passed to third parties.
- Display name: shown to everybody next to your edits and your remarks in discussions.
- When you sign in with Google, the site receives from Google your address, your name and the permanent number of your account. Your Google password is never passed to the site.
- For accounts with a password, the password is kept only as a hash (Argon2id); the people who run the site cannot read it either.
- Network address (IP): written to the security log at sign-in and with changes.
- Cookies: only those needed for signing in and for protecting forms. There are no advertising or analytics cookies and no third-party counters.
- The data is kept on the site's own server.
Deleting an account
At your request the account is deleted: the address, the name, the password, sessions and notifications are erased. Published edits stay in the history of the dictionary, without the author's name.
